Basic Info
Name:Levi James
Bio
University of Chicago Class of 2012. Majoring in English Language & Literature. Intending to write for a living. Seventeen years old.
Literature: I read a lot of books - mostly fiction: novels by 20th-century authors (with all due respect to Dickens, Austen, and company, I don't really enjoy 19th-century literature that much). The same is true of poetry: I'll read Whitman and Dickinson, but it doesn't get good for me until Cummings and Eliot. I read short stories, particularly sci-fi, which seems to be a genre much better suited to the short story than to the novel. I read a few manga (OnePiece, Deathnote, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure).
Music: I was raised on Classical and Contemporary Christian. Except for a few groups like Jars of Clay, I no longer listen to the latter. I do enjoy Classical (though I dislike the Classical period proper - i.e., Mozart, Beethoven as opposed to Bach or Chopin; nor can I pay sufficient attention to a full orchestra) and play the piano. Jazz fascinates me, though I do not understand it. Mostly I listen to what is broadly termed "rock".
Visual Arts: no clue.
Politics: Mostly libertarian tending toward a principled apathy.
Religion: I have a relationship with God through Jesus. That is not a religion, but you can call me Christian if you like.
